According to a research almost 25 percent of a person’s daily energy is consumed when he speaks. Therefore a new technology has been developed by German KIT Institute of Anthropomatics which will allow silent communication.
According to the developers of this technology people will not speak instead they will move their lips and the technology will transform the lip movement into a message and send it to others. The researchers say that they will introduce this technology in mobile phones which will allow them to silently communicate their message to others. The technology not only supports Dutch but also supports other languages of the world. It was introduced in the Cebit electronics fair where it was explained that this technology works by attaching 9 sensors to the face of the individual. Each sensor then detects the movement of the facial muscles with the help of electrodes. These electrodes create an electric impulse and send it to amplifier. The amplifier then translates the impulse and sends the message to the person on the other side of the phone.
Some reports by NASA say that this technology is not new and NASA experts have been using this to communicate under noisy environment in Space. But the truth has yet to come up. Some other reports also bring in knowledge that Japan’s largest cell phone company DoCoMo also made an attempt in 2002 to come up with such a device but they failed to do so.
This unique and latest technology tends to be an environment friendly technology as it will reduce the noise pollution. Moreover, the most attractive feature in this technology is that it will provide secured and private communication between two people. Major drawback of this technology is that this technology can be used to do fraud and other crimes. Therefore it is still questioned whether this device will be for mass market or only for some specific purposes. The developers and creators of this technology say that there is still a lot of work to be done to install this technology in a small gadget (mobile phone).
