The first prototype mouse for computers was invented by Douglas Engelbart at the Standford Research Institute in 1963. His project was not focused purely towards making a mouse but the invention came on its way. Since then different types of computer mouse like ball mouse, optical (LED) mouse, laser mouse and USB mouse have been invented and still researchers are trying to introduce computer mouse with different design and type.

Kim Hye-shin a designer of computer accessories has invented a latest mouse called “Bendy-M”. It is a ribbon strap which could be bent into a certain shape to use it as a mouse for the PC’s and Laptops. Kim claims that it is a futuristic design and it will attract people a lot.

Major players in the computer industry like Apple, Intel, Microsoft, Dell and others have come up with a lot of unique computer mouse designs. Some of the designs and technologies got successful but others got failed. According to a survey almost 40 percent of the designs and technologies for mouse introduced by these big players failed. This gives a clear idea that designing a computer mouse is not a tough job.

Kim while unveiling the specs of this new ribbon like mouse said that it is basically a strap which you can easily carry and bend it to use as a mouse. Portability is the basic concept of this new mouse. The stick has buttons on it which support the clicks. Kim believes that this new futuristic Bendy-M mouse will give a tough competition to the other mouse manufacturers in the computer industry.

This technology looks really interesting but there are a lot of misconceptions. Kim did not tell about the power usage of Bendy-M moreover, there are still some rumors about the comfort level of this technology and the user friendliness. How well this new technology works and how much people like it will only be uncovered after this technology comes in the market.
