Intel Corp. is known as one of the largest chip manufacturer of the world. Since 1968 it has continuously been coming up with the latest technologies. It has played a major role in the progress of computers and internet. Intel also manufactures semiconductors and therefore has a wide research on electric transmission and generation.
Recently Intel Corp. has announced a latest WiMax technology. This technology will be launched by the year 2012. According to Intel Corp. this new 802.16m WiMax standard will replace the current 802.16e WiMax standard and will provide a 170M bps download speed and 90M bps upload speed to the users. This latest technology in WiMax will also be fully backward compatible with the 802.16e WiMax standard. This means the launch of the new WiMax technology will not affect the users of the older technology.
The Intel Corp. has decided to come up with this technology because the use of internet is estimated to increase and more and more people are wished to make a shift to the wireless broadband WiMax technology. People now want to experience more speed and Intel is to target this demand of the users.
This new 802.16m WiMax is different from the older one as is it mobile. Users can take it anywhere with them in mobile locations. This new WiMax technology will cover the whole world instead of covering certain areas or cities. Intel is facing a tough competition from the mobile phone networks as they are trying to make the mobile phone internet service faster to keep a competitive edge but Intel has promised that this technology by Intel will beat all the other WiMax broadband services in terms of speed and coverage both. One can just imagine how much quick the life is going to be in future as the technology is making things faster and simpler for us.
